Frequently Asked Questions

About Menopause, Weight Loss, Healthy Aging, and Nutrition Coaching.

Please reach me at amy@amykwilson.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Many women notice weight gain during menopause, especially around the abdomen. While hormones play a role, loss of muscle mass, changes in insulin sensitivity, poor sleep, stress, and reduced activity often contribute as well.

The good news is that weight gain is not inevitable. The right nutrition, strength training, sleep, and lifestyle habits can make a significant difference.

Yes.

Many women are told belly fat is simply part of aging, but that's not the whole story. Building muscle, eating enough protein, balancing blood sugar, managing stress, and staying active can help improve body composition and overall health.

No.

Carbohydrates are not the enemy. Most women do better focusing on protein, fiber, portion awareness, and choosing mostly whole-food carbohydrate sources rather than eliminating carbs completely.

Fatigue can age caused by many factors including poor sleep, stress, blood sugar swings, inadequate protein intake, loss of muscle mass, hormonal changes, and certain medical conditions.

Addressing these foundational habits often improves energy significantly.

Absolutely.

Strength training helps maintain muscle mass, support metabolism, improve bone density, increase energy, and promote healthy aging. It is one of the most beneficial forms of exercise for women in midlife.

The FASTer Way to Fat Loss is a nutrition and fitness program that combines whole-food nutrition, macro tracking, strength training, strategic intermittent fasting, and accountability coaching to help create sustainable results.

For many women, yes. However, fasting is not appropriate for everyone.

The best approach is individualized and should support your overall health, energy, and nutrition needs.

No.

Consistency matters more than perfection. A balanced approach that includes strength training, daily movement, and recovery is often more effective than exercising intensely every day.

Yes.

I coach women virtually, allowing them to receive support, education, accountability, and guidance no matter where they live.

As a pharmacist, board-certified geriatric pharmacist, nutrition coach, and fitness professional, I bring an evidence-based approach to helping women improve their health.

My focus is helping women build strength, improve energy, balance blood sugar, support healthy aging, and feel alive again through sustainable habits rather than quick fixes.
